Climate action doesn’t have to be big or feel overwhelming.
I grew up surrounded by the Kerry countryside, and for the past six years, I’ve spent my time between Dublin, Wicklow, and Wexford. Living in these areas has shown me the richness of local wildlife and plants, but also how many people feel that one person alone cannot make a difference. I have felt that too.
That feeling changed when I met others who cared, who were inspired to act, and who wanted to learn and share. Seeing what is possible when people come together made me want to create a space to encourage and facilitate that connection; a space where curiosity and knowledge lead to action.
As a final-year zoology student and a Climate Ambassador with An Taisce, I want to help people notice the wildlife and plants around them, understand how they are connected, and feel empowered to help protect them. Identifying a bird in a park, observing insects in a schoolyard, or learning how local ecosystems are changing can all make a difference when shared with others.
This blog is a space for exploration, inspiration, and practical ideas. My aim is to share what I have learned, highlight local biodiversity, and show how communities can act together to protect it.
If you have ever wondered how you can make a difference, or simply want to notice the world around you more closely, this is the place to start.
